Vermont mountain bike trail building services

Liam’s passion for bikes started in earnest when he used the last of his money to buy a brand new full suspension mountain bike while on a gap year in New Zealand in 2016...

He ate a lot of rice and beans after that purchase, cooking on a little one burner propane stove in the parking lots of legendary mountain bike hubs like Queenstown Bike Park and Cardrona Bike Park. Despite the baldness of oatmeal and rice day in and day out, In his mind he was living the dream.

In college he worked as a bike mechanic in a local shop in Arizona and after a year of competing in cross country collegiate races he packed up everything he owned and moved from the desert to the rainforest. Yet again he was surrounded by extremely talented and dedicated riders in the mountain bike mecca of the world, Squamish, British Columbia. The next two years he spent chasing the next generation of professional riders and Squamish locals, Building pirate trails behind campus, competing in enduro races, and wrenching for his buddies with pro contracts. The realization that his dream of becoming a sponsored racer was a distant possibility prompted him to refocus his attention on being a bike mechanic.

Liam enrolled in the United Bike Institute and took all the courses in bike mechanics that they offered. After graduating with a master mechanic certification he worked sporadically as a mechanic discovering the sad truth that you can’t actually make a decent living from working solely as a bike mechanic. It wasn't until recently that he rediscovered the art of trail building. Diving headfirst again into the world of shaping dirt, he now uses everything he has learned while riding at a very high level and applies that knowledge to building creative trails. Trails that can showcase mastered skills and help improve others.
