Carpenter / Builder Apprentice

Position Details
Compensation & Experience Levels
We value character, work ethic, and a natural curiosity far above a long resume. Compensation is tiered based on experience:
• Entry-Level / Apprentice (0 to 3 Years Experience): $20.00 to $25.00 per hour. We provide paid, on-the-job mentorship. You will learn the basics of framing, finish trim, energy systems, and high-efficiency building techniques.
• Experienced Builder (5+ Years Experience): $25.00 to $35.00 per hour. You will have the opportunity to take ownership of complex carpentry tasks, run specific job-site segments in our high-standard framework.
(Note: Candidates with 3 to 5 years of experience will be evaluated during the interview process to determine a fair, competitive starting rate within these ranges.)
Key Responsibilities
• Perform a variety of residential construction tasks including deconstruction rough framing, exterior siding, and delicate finish carpentry.
• Execute building tasks aligned with our green philosophy and sustainable material choices.
• Help maintain a clean, organized, safe, and highly efficient job site.
• Collaborate closely with team members and communicate openly to ensure the client’s designis expertly xecuted.
• Adapt dynamically to custom design changes and diverse projects, from custom remodels to net-zero builds.
Qualifications & Requirements
• Physical Ability: Must be able to comfortably lift 50 lbs over your head and work outdoors in varying Vermont weather conditions.
• Mindset: Naturally curious, an energetic learner, positive attitude even when the work is hardand highly self-motivated.
• Communication: Ability to listen deeply and communicate clearly with a small team.
• Flexibility: Comfortable adapting to shifting project needs and a variety of specialized building tools.
• Logistics: Reliable transportation to job sites in Chittenden and Northern Addison Counties.
